Haemoglobin A1c or HbA1c is a marker of how well your body has been handling blood sugar over the last three months and is a great test to understand your metabolic health. HbA1c is haemoglobin which has bound with the sugar in your blood. The higher your blood sugar over the last 3 months, the higher this protein will be in your blood. A high HbA1c level can indicate pre-diabetes or diabetes. The lower your HbA1c, the better.
